AKA North were appointed to develop the key concept creation and animated trailer for the Storyhouse to launch their 2018 Christmas show The Wizard of Oz. The venue is only in its second year so the Christmas performance plays an important role in cementing the Storyhouse as a dynamic hub for culture in the North West. With a theatre, cinema, library and restaurant to shout about, the Storyhouse wanted to tap into AKA’s experience with big budget West End productions, to create glossy and glamourous creative that would appeal to the multi-generational “Strictly Come Dancing” audience demographic.
From the key artwork, we created a short animated trailer that transports the viewer to a wonderful, festive realm, beyond the walls of Chester. Both the artwork and trailer will be rolled out across a layered media campaign, including out-of-home, digital and video on demand.
